In 1971, volunteers from St. Matthew Presbyterian Church were instrumental in the start-up of our Bel Pre program, and ever since, St. Matthew has given us a home in their church school building. We are nestled in the woods of St. Matthew's beautiful campus, and surrounded by grass, gardens and a great playground. Visit their website for a look!

Meet the Site Director--Amber Knowles

Amber Knowles has been the Site Director at MCCA Georgian Forest since 2009. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Fisk University in Nashville, TN and is now attending Bowie State University in pursuit of her Master’s in Special Education.  Amber has 10 years of previous experience with children ages 3-12 through various daycare and school settings, nanny care, and babysitting services.  It is from these experiences that she has gained a love and infinite passion in this field of work.

On the more personal side, Amber loves to shop, go to the movies, eat out, and spend time with friends and family.  She describes herself as “young, vibrant, happy, and fun.” Amber’s favorite food is macaroni and cheese.  Her favorite television shows are Grey’s Anatomy and Life Unexpected and her favorite movies are Love and Basketball, Steel Magnolias, Sandlot, and Freedom Writers.  Amber tries to look at everyday as a new beginning and a chance to make a difference.  She hopes someday she will.
