Meet the Director--Cindy O'Carroll
Cindy has been working at MCCA Beverly Farms since 1981, when she started as a Group Leader in the After School
Program. She was then promoted to Assistant Director and then Director in 1984. Cindy is also a Mentor Director for directors new to MCCA .
Cindy is originally from North Adams, Massachusetts, where she grew up in the Berkshires. She graduated from Bridgewater State College in Bridgewater, Massachusetts with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. After college, Cindy moved to Maryland with a college roommate and here she is, still in Maryland after all these years. Cindy lives with her husband, Chuck, and her son, Ryan, in Potomac, conveniently just a few blocks from the center.
Cindy was fortunate to oversee MCCA Beverly Farms' move to its current site at Ivymount in 1985 and to its off-site program at Beverly Farms Elementary School in 1998. It is with pride and great memories that she Iooks back on the years behind her and it is with eagerness and excitement that she looks forward to the center’s growth and continuing success in the future.
Cindy truly can say, “I would have never guessed in 1981 when I accepted the position as Group Leader that all these years later I would still be working for the same center. It is a great ride each and every day!”
