The Heart in Child Care
Preschool program at Brooke Grove:
- For children ages 2 to 5
- Hours: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
- Two-year-olds accepted prior to toilet training
- Breakfast, AM and PM snacks provided
- Monthly enrichment field trips
School age before & after school programs at Brooke Grove:
- For children ages 5 to 12 years
- Hours: 6:30 AM to 9:00 AM and/or 2:40 PM to 6:30 PM
- Breakfast and PM snacks provided
- MCPS bus transportation to and from Brooke Grove, Olney, and Greenwood Elementary Schools
- Brooke Grove bus transportation from St. Peter's School
School age after school program at Greenwood Elementary:
- For children ages 5 to 10 years
- Hours: 3:00 to 6:30 PM
- PM snack provided
Summer Adventures at Brooke Grove:
- Thinking about summer camps? Think Summer Adventures instead! We offer an enriching summer that keeps your child's body and mind active: 10 exciting Theme Weeks, our "Summer Reading Rocks" program, activity choices in addition to our themes, "low key" time for you child plus field trips, swimming, sports and hands-on discovery.

Meet the Director--Kara Terry
Kara started working for MCCA in September 2005 as a Group Leader at MCCA BG. She was promoted to Site Director of MCCA GW in 2007 and then Director of MCCA BG in 2011. Before coming to MCCA, Kara worked at the Campus Recreation Center at the University of MD as a Staff Supervisor for three years. She is currently working towards her BA in Social Sciences from UMUC through online classes. Kara was born and raised in Brookeville and attended MCCA BG and GW as a child. In her off-time, she likes to watch movies with her husband, take walks with their dog, and spend time with their families.
Meet the Site Director--Melissa Carry
Melissa has been working at MCCA Greenwood since 2011. She has a passion for the growth and development of communities, families and children. Melissa has worked as an extended day site director, lead teacher and substitute in Washington, DC Public Charter Schools, a summer camp head counselor in PG County and currently works as a mentor to metropolitan youth. Melissa is a native of Washington, DC and PG County and she now resides in Takoma Park, MD. She graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and has taken various courses in Elementary Education as well. She has a special interest and talent in visual and performing arts and is always looking for ways to incorporate that in her work with children, families and community organizations.
