The Heart in Child Care

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteer Support

MCCA welcomes volunteers in our classrooms, to work on special projects, help in fundraising, and serve on our Board of Directors and special committees. If you have a child enrolled in an MCCA program, you are also automatically a member of that program's Parent Council. If you'd like to help, please contact our main office.

MCCA's 4th Annual 5K Race and Wacky Fun Run-
November 8th, 2008

MCCA's 5K Race and Wacky Fun Run raises funds for our Family Emergency Scholarships. The race is held each year at Lake Needwood, Rock Creek Regional Park in Rockville, MD. There are cash prizes for the top 5K finishers, great door prizes for all ages, and plenty of fun activities for the kids. Volunteers are welcome for everything from soliciting sponsorships to helping on race day.

Giving Opportunities

Community members may donate time, equipment, furniture, books and other needed materials. You may also make a direct contribution to our special funds. All contributions are tax deductible.

Family Emergency Scholarship Fund
MCCA's emergency scholarship fund provides temporary tuition assistance to families in MCCA programs who experience a sudden financial hardship, such as job loss or serious illness, that makes them unable to afford their child care.

Combined Federal Campaign #13880
United Way #8447
and Our Center Subsidy Reimbursement Fund

Families who receive government child care subsidies pay us with a voucher plus co-payment that are smaller than our total tuition, but we do not bill them for the difference. Instead, your contribution, through the United Way/Combined Federal Campaign or a direct gift, is used to reimburse the tuition shortfall for MCCA programs who serve families receiving subsidies.

Staff Scholarship Fund
MCCA has a small scholarship fund to support staff taking college courses or pursuing the Child Development Associate credential. Your contribution helps our child care professionals achieve higher levels of education, and directly impacts the quality of care for MCCA families.

MCCA Development Fund
Your contribution to our Development Fund is an unrestricted gift toward long range projects, improved staff benefits and education, and expanded services for our children.
