The Heart in Child Care
About Us
Established in 1985, Montgomery Child Care Association's Training Institute is the premier
source of training for child care professionals in the
Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. The MCCA Training Institute is
approved by the State of Maryland (#CKO-30828 and #PS-101100)
to provide continuing
education to child care professionals.
-
Each year the MCCA Training Institute provides area child care
professionals with continued education workshops, pre-service
courses, conferences and special projects.
-
We offer hands-on, interactive training and a constructivist
approach that recognizes and builds on the existing knowledge and
experience of participants.
-
All MCCA trainers have extensive experience working directly with
children in child care settings; and our training techniques help
connect participants to these real experiences with children.
-
Our trainers present seminars at NAA, NAEYC and other state and
national conferences, complete over 30 hours of professional
development training every year, and have published articles in
Young Children and Child Care Information Exchange.
-
The MCCA Training Institute has been recognized by the National Association
for the Education of Young Children for its innovative approach to
adult professional development, and has been featured as a model for
training by Margie Carter and Deb Curtis, authors of Training
Teachers: A Harvest of Theory and Practice.
